About the Journal

Kioo cha Lugha is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Institute of Kiswahili Studies (IKS) at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). The journal is devoted to publishing articles on Kiswahili language, literature, linguistics, and other African languages. From 2021 it is published bi-annually. We accept scholarly articles written in Kiswahili or English.

Kioo cha Lugha is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by the University of Dar es Salaam. All articles are freely accessible online under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License.

Article Processing Charges (APCs):
Kioo cha Lugha does not charge any fees for article submission, processing, or publication.
